Even though...

we are almost in Autumn here in the southern hemisphere,
I still decorate as if it was Spring time...

Light coloured curtains to let the sun in...

Hearts, still up from Valentine's Day ☺

Red, White and Blue

The rain is pouring down outside, but it sure is dry and cozy inside!

An ocean of pretty cushions.

Faux plants to brighten up the window sill.

Hope y'all have a great beginning of the week!

While the rain was pouring down...

We made a lamb shank casserole.

It was so yummy,
- served with sour dough bread.

Hope you all stay safe and dry☺

The rain is pouring down... Again!

After a day and night with extreme humidity,
I woke up from the sound of bucket loads of rain pouring down.

Hope there is no flooding this time...

I will try and stay dry today... lol

In loving memory

I'm surrounded by things that belonged to my maternal grandmother.
Somehow, it still feels like she's here with me...
1921-2011

The Japanese cups and saucers below belonged to her.

Read more about them here!

I'm so grateful I got to live close to her for a few years,
catching up on this and that.
She was my confidant here in Australia.
Daily phone calls and frequent visits.
- Moments to treasure forever♥

Valentine's Day

In Swedish Valentine's Day is translated into All Hearts' Day. The history of celebrating Valentine's Day in Sweden is fairly new. We didn't start until the 1960s. The department store NK (The Nordic Company) began selling heart shaped jellies. According to Wikipedia, we didn't celebrate much at all until the 90s when the special day was introduced at the local high schools.

For me, this is the first time I decorate the house for Valentine's Day. For me, it's a great excuse to keep the red going for a little while longer before it's time for all my blue! It's been so much red everywhere for so long, I've almost forget that I actually live in a 'blue home' ☺

My three year old princess saw me decorate in red and asked:
- Mamma, is it Christmas today?
- No, not today, I replied.
- Ah, so you are just decorating?!

Happy Valentine's Day everyone!!

... even in the toilet!

The toilet received a heart make-over during the Valentine season!

Beautiful heart of beads.
Rustic, yet romantic♥

The red curtain is still up since Christmas - So perfect for Valentine's Day!

Our faux crystal chandelier makes a divine pattern in the ceiling.
Pretty and romantic♥

My grandmother's necklace, which she got on her 80th birthday.
A beautiful love heart with her initials.

Valentine's Day is almost upon us...
